Epsilon Energia Solar (EES) is a company that distributes and finances small solar systems in rural Mozambique. The business model combines last mile distribution, connected equipment, mobile money and effective credit management to deliver a Pay-As-You-Go service to bottom of the pyramid households.
Respected Mozambican investors Epsilon, Graca Machel’s foundation FDC and experienced solar financing investor and manager Kevin Kennedy have created Epsilon Energia Solar to bring the next generation solar energy and digital financial services to households and businesses in rural Mozambique and subsequently Southern Africa.
Following the completion of a successful pilot, reaching 2000 families, we enter 2019 focussed on scaling up. Our goal is now to reach 100,000 customers plus within 3 years. While the anchor product is PAYGO solar, other equipment such as larger solar home systems and water pumps will be piloted. Epsilon Energia intends to become the partner of choice for any commercial or development program in rural Mozambique where financing of households or small holders is required.
